Fed: Fuel contamination may be cause of two chopper crashes

Fuel contamination is being investigated as the potential cause of two helicopter crashes
last month.

In separate incidents at Moorabbin Airport in Melbourne on December 9 and 21, the helicopters
crashed during training practice sessions.

Australian Transport Safety Bureau's deputy director of air safety investigations,
ALAN STRAY says both pilots at first thought they had landed heavily, and it was thought
no investigations were necessary.

But the pilots later contacted the bureau to raise concerns about fuel …
